Caring Carrie's Pet Sitters was started in 1996 by Karen Marriott. The name "Caring Carrie" was lovingly so named after Karen's late mother Carrie. Karen is a retired contractor for NASA and loves animals. During that time Karen had 6 birds & 3 dogs.
Karen retired from the pet sitting business and moved to Alpine Tx. She still loves to hear about her Fur-Friends and can be emailed at email@example.com.
Welcome to Caring Carrie’s Pet Sitting. My name is Elizabeth Moeller and I purchased this wonderful company from Ms. Marriott in April of 2006, where I was her only pet sitter.
Over the years I have grown to know and love all the animal clients we service, as they are our special Fur Kids, with each dog, cat, or bird having its own unique personality, making pet sitting very rewarding to me.
Our own personal animals are so treasured and loved at our home. Truthfully, my husband and I live in their home and every now and then, they let us come in from the rain. We have three dogs and we also volunteer as a foster family for Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue, so the actual number of our four legged Fur Kids varies from day to day. If you would like to learn more about our family, you are welcome to visit our family website at:
These past eight years have been such a blessing for my husband and me. We are the proud grandparents of twin grandsons and a granddaughter who have brought so much joy to our lives.
The other blessing is that there is now a "PAW-SOME" team of professional, responsibale, loving friends who help me with all the Fur Kids we have the privilege to visit. Therefore, you will always have a main pet sitter, as well as a back-up who will be able to provide devoted care to each and every need of your pet. From puppies and kittens who may require a more structured playtime, to our older fur friends who may need a helping hand getting to their feet or special medical needs - our trained, warm-hearted team will love your pets as much as you do in your absence.
My vision for Caring Carrie's Pet Sitters is "to be the kind of person my pets think I am and to treat all humans and animals with the love and respect I wish to be treated with," also known as the Golden Rule.
Thanks for visiting.
Loving, Professional, Affordable In-Your-Home Pet Sitting
As a native Houstonian and a graduate of the University of Houston I enjoyed financial careers with Uniroyal Tire Company and later Prudential Financial before retiring. It was then that I was able to follow my true passions – softball and four legged friends. I was fortunate to have met Elizabeth and became part of her team at Carries Caring Pets . Origanilly I was a client and appreciated the proffessional manner my pets were cared for. I truly enjoy working with pets, they are so loyal and honest. I have put in many hours as volunteer at BASCA. When I am not pet sitting or walking my own two Papillion’s – Brandee and Heidi, I am involved in a Clear Lake Senior Softball team.

My name is Arnette Shaffer and I have been part of the Caring Carrie’s pet sitting crew since June 2008. My townhouse near the Houston Yacht Club is home to 4 rescue cats and a few outside strays. Although I stay busy with a full time job and a part time volunteer job, my favorite activity is pet sitting. The cats I visit know I bring toys and plenty of time to play. The older dogs request massages. In my spare time, I volunteer at Memorial High School with special needs kids - including Secret Santa, buying school clothes in September and throwing parties for the class. I create charity auction baskets for Houston Mission Center, Memorial Exchange Club and various other causes. I believe my teaching background and experience with special needs kids makes me a good pet sitter.
My name is Birthe Andreassen and I joined the team in September 2013. I moved to Houston from Norway in 2000 with my husband and our two sons. In Norway, I worked as a nurse for 13 years, but when we moved here, I was a stay at home mom. In 2001 we adopted Aspen from Cocker Spaniel rescue. I grew up with poodles in Norway and I always wanted a dog of my own. We also had parakeets, and cockatiels. After a few years I started as a volunteer at Bay Area Pet Adoption, and loved helping all the dogs and cats there. In 2012 we adopted Eddie from Cocker Spaniel rescue after loosing Aspen. He has been our baby in the house up until January 2014, at which time we adopted our second cocker, Marco. Now they both share my attention, and Eddie is adapting to a brother.:) I love being around animals, playing and spending time with them. I am so fortunate that this opportunity with Elizabeth's pet sitting buisness came to me, and I look forward to spending more time with all the furry friends and being part of Caring Carrie's team.
I joined this dedicated and compassionate team of pet sitters in 2011 and I also wear an additional hat as Assistant Manager helping with the administrative side of Caring Carrie’s Pet Sitters.
I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts, but have lived in Texas for over 30 years. I am a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan and would love to share Red Sox baseball stories with anyone that will listen.
When not pet sitting, I volunteer many hours within the La Porte School District and at City of La Porte functions. I am also a scrapbook junkie and try to work on my scrapbook projects when time permits. My husband and I have lived in La Porte for 20 years. Our daughter teaches in La Porte working with special needs children and is also a cat and dog lover. Before moving to La Porte, my husband and I lived in Houston where I was employed with an investment management company.
Proudly, we have two cats, one dog and a cockatiel. I would have more pets, but my husband threatens to live in a tent outside if any more pets come inside. Maybe that is why I enjoy my pet sitting business – I can get my pet fix loving other animals from afar.
I was fortunate enough to run into Elizabeth Moeller while I was walking my two Pomeranians, Lili and Rosi, at the Voyager at Space Center apartments. She was on her way to visit a client of hers in my building and my pups and I were thrilled to learn that she was a Pet Sitter!
Shortly thereafter, one of Caring Carrie’s Team Members, Birthe, became my Pups’ New Best Friend when I needed pet sitting. My husband Patrick and I love to travel and Birthe takes such wonderful care of our Girls while we are away from home - which is a great testament to her since I am one nervous Mama when I’m away from them!! Photos and text updates of every visit assured me my girls were being well loved in our absence.
When Elizabeth learned of my Bookkeeping business, she asked if I would be interested in becoming the company’s Bookkeeper! I was thrilled to join the team and was very impressed with the growth and size of the business. This allowed me to leave my full-time job of the past 10 years as a paralegal to pursue my dream of self-employment and working from home.
When I am not keeping books or taking care of my Pups, I am now blessed with the opportunity to love many other Fur Kids. As of January 2014, I am proud to say that I have joined Team Paw-some as a Professional Pet Sitter! Knowing the service I expected and received first as a client, I look forward to giving that same great service to you and your Fur Kids in your absence.
I recently joined this terrific team of wonderful pet sitters in December, 2013. I am also a part-time pet sitter as I hold a full time position as a receptionist at Clear Creek Animal Hospital in Seabrook. I have always had a love for all types of animals and working for an animal hospital has given me the opportunity to surround myself with a wide variety of pets.
I have two loving dogs at home, Chloee who is two years old, was rescued from the Baytown Humane Society and Champ who is one year old was rescued from an unpleasant neighborhood. Both pups would never have survived, had I not adopted them. I believe they both chose me to be their human “mom”. I also have a nine year old male cat named Daizee who was adopted at four weeks old. What a surprise thinking Daizee was a female kitten – but finding out later she was a boy. I know he thinks he runs the household – and most of the time – he does. If I could have more animals I would, but right now these three are plenty to keep up with.
I grew up in Vidor, Texas but have been living in La Porte for almost two years and I couldn’t be happier. When I am not pet sitting or working at the animal clinic, I enjoy fishing, throwing a bar-be-que or watching my dogs run around at the local dog parks.
In my life, there isn’t anything more important than a loving family, great friends and the best pets I could ever have wished for.
I’m a busy mom with a wonderful supportive husband, two amazing children and two sweet dogs. I have always been an animal lover and being a Team Member at Caring Carrie’s is a dream job. I enjoy spending time with my daily clients and I get some exercise as a bonus!
Originally from Erie, PA, I earned my undergraduate degree at Gannon University and my Masters at Edinboro University. Prior to starting my family, I taught Elementary School in Erie, PA and San Antonio, TX. I also worked in Cleveland, OH as a Program Specialist and a Multi-Cultural Specialist conducting staff development for the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District. In addition to taking care of my family, walking dogs and volunteering at my children’s schools, I am a Mary Kay Senior Consultant.
I enjoy Yoga, reading, baking and cooking Italian family recipes.
A native Texan, I'm an energetic 20 year old college student starting my junior year at Texas A&M University in August, 2014, where I am majoring in Communication and Minoring in Art. My goal is to use this educational foundation to join the world of advertising where my professional art skills can be challenged in design! Art is my biggest passion and I love to work in all mediums. As a blue-ribbon winner of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo art contest, my winning portrait of a Steer was on display in the Texas Capitol for a year. Pet portraits or sketches are my favorite form of art and my talent shines through as I feel I am able to capture the soul of the pet. Often I accept requests to do commissions from pet owners as it brings me joy to create a beloved pet on canvas to life.
When I'm not drawing or studying, I'm at home playing with my animals. I should probably mention that I have six pets. There are three cats - Emmy, Zoey, and Riley and three pups - Remmy, Dusty and last but not least.... Duke! Duke is my corgi and he's my number one pup! I love to play fetch with him whenever I have free time. And being a corgi, he ALWAYS has energy to play, play and PLAY!
I am excited to join the great team at Caring Carrie’s Pet Sitters. I will be helping Elizabeth and her pet sitters on a part-time basis as I am currently employed as a Para Professional in the life skills class at Lomax Junior High School in La Porte helping students achieve their ultimate potential.
I am also a swim coach during the summer for the Pineloch Piranhas Swim Team and teach private swim lessons while working with special needs children in water safety. I am current on my American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED Certifications and have also earned a Texas Para Professional Certificate, with specialization in Autistic/Special Needs children.
My love for animals began as a child. My parents have always had dogs, cats, birds and even hamsters in our home growing up and I have continued the tradition in my home. Currently, I have two dogs and two cats eating me out of all my spare change.
Hi my name is Lillie McNearney, one of the newest members of this wonderful Team Paw-some and I am a native Houstonian. I grew up with five sisters where my home was always a busy place, but I was always the animal lover of the crew! Cats, dogs, rats, birds, rabbits, horses, hamsters and various wildlife rescues over my lifetime have marked the events in my years. I have four wonderful dogs, Joey, Jake, Gabby and Tinker and two cats, Yoda and Harley (she was supposed to have been a male! :) My neighbors gave me the moniker of "Nature Lady" since baby birds, escaped white rats, turtles and other wayward wildlife seem to make it to my door when neighbors don't know what to do with them.
I have two wonderful grandkids that are the apple of Granny's eye. I am retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety, volunteered at the League City Animal Shelter in their cat room, donated my clowning skills as "Ditto" to Friends of Friendswood's Animal Shelter functions with Tinker and wish I had room to give a home to all God's wonderful furry and feathered creatures! I don't call it pet-sitting, I call it a Love-In!

I first heard about Elizabeth and her Paw-Some Team of pet sitters from my brother who works as an EMT. It’s a long and funny story – remind me to tell you about it one day. After contacting Elizabeth and realizing we had much in common, she asked if I was interested in joining her terrific group of pet sitters. The rest is history.
I am a very busy wife and mother of an active daughter and a very inquisitive toddler son. Between taking my daughter to karate and soccer, as well as playing soccer myself, I am always on-the-go (which I love).
I previously worked as a Veterinary Technician at Clear Creek Animal Hospital in Seabrook and then moved on to Gulf Coast Clinic of Chiropractic (also in Seabrook) where I worked as a massage therapist. I am also a certified personal trainer and an independent distributor for AdvoCare. I received my Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology and Biology from Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina where I also played soccer. I later went on to get my Master's in Fitness and Human Performance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
I co-exist with two very sweet and loving 8-year old cats, Kendra and Holly, that will literally follow you to whatever room you go to just to try to get some love and affection. I hope to increase the number of pawed friends in the future, but for now I'll just settle for taking care of your pets and giving them all my love and attention!! :)
